Movement Collection: Anti-Sex-Trafficking

Our Movement collection launches with our unlimited edition t-shirts: angel squad for girls and women around the world who subscribe to our #WithKindness movement and join our online angel community; #mankind for the good guys out there (see our #mankind wall page for details on the ground rules around our definition of a "good guy") who try to be the best kind of man they can be. Everyone stumbles but it's how you rise up from it that matters.

These t-shirts have been created for unlimited production and at an accessible price point for most so that everyone everywhere who subscribes to kind living can afford to own one and/or purchase one for someone who can't afford to. We also stand by our mission to pay kindness forward by evenly distributing 10% of the net sales proceeds to 6 charities in North America that are leaders in tackling the issue of sex trafficking: it's the dirty little secret that lurks in every city, predominantly preying on young girls and women, online and offline. What might surprise you most? According to the UN Office on Drugs and Crime, women are "commonly involved in the trafficking of women and girls, in particular". In other words, women are often used to recruit other women into trafficking (often at the coercion of men).

We're putting a halo spotlight around sex trafficking because it is a global multi-billion dollar enterprise (according to Equality Now fact sheet, the sex trafficking industry pulls in an estimated $99 billion each year!) that affects nearly every single country and has now reached an alarming status of being the fastest growing crime.

Halo Spotlight

Our halo spotlight has selected the 6 charities below because they each provide a critical service in closing the loop on sex trafficking.

HeartMob: young girls and women who are bullied are more vulnerable to being lured into sex trafficking. HeartMob stands up to cyberbullying.

THORN: technology enables sex traffickers. At Thorn, they build partnerships with tech companies, law enforcement and NGOs to build technology to defend children from sexual abuse.

Polaris: Polaris is named for the North Star which people held in slavery in the US used as a guide to navigate their way toward freedom. Serves victims and survivors through the 24/7 National Human Trafficking Hotline; building one of the largest public data sets on human trafficking in the US; enlisting law enforcement and private sector partners to support survivors, prevent and disrupt human trafficking at scale.

BOOST CYAC: Boost Child & Youth Advocacy Centre (CYAC) is dedicated to the prevention of child abuse and violence through education and awareness, providing services to children, youth and families.

Covenant House: serves at-risk, homeless and trafficked youth. Covenant House Toronto changes lives by providing the widest range of services and support under one roof. A national leader, they educate and advocate for change to help at-risk, homeless and trafficked youth by influencing public policy and delivering prevention and awareness programs.

HART: HART is an acronym for Human Anti-Trafficking Response Team and is focused on providing survivors of sex trafficking in the Greater Toronto area with safe crisis housing and 24/7 emergency support.

When you buy one of our t-shirts, you stand up for kindness and you stand up to sex trafficking. We can make a difference!

Make kindness count, literally: we need your help in spreading our #WithKindness Movement, building our angel community (encourage all the girls and women you know to sign on via our homepage), creating your angel squads and scaling our philanthropic support behind the 6 leaders who are taking on sex trafficking. Be an angel. Be a good guy. The power of YOU multiplies with the power of US.
